Media Must Be Impartial, Accurate: Collector
Deccan News Service | Hanamkonda : Warangal District Collector Dr. Satya Sardha said the media play a vital role in society and democracy, stressing that news must always be accurate, impartial and responsible.
Speaking at the eve of the Deccan Vision English Daily calendar launch held in Hanamkonda, the Collector observed that newspapers act as a crucial bridge between the government and the people by highlighting public issues and grievances. She said unbiased reporting and factual presentation of news help in enlightening the public and strengthening democratic values.
Dr. Satya Sardha noted that English newspapers too have an important role to play by giving priority to local news along with broader issues. She appreciated Deccan Vision English Daily for its coverage of a wide range of subjects, including education, health and social development, and for bringing local concerns to the forefront.
“The media’s responsibility goes beyond reporting events. It must ensure truth, balance and public interest in every story,” she said, adding that responsible journalism contributes significantly to transparent governance and informed citizens.
The Collector congratulated the Deccan Vision team on the calendar launch and wished the publication continued success in upholding journalistic ethics and public service.
Senior journalists and well-wishers N. S. Rao, A. Shankar, A. Rajendar and K. Sridhar participated in the calendar launching programme and spoke on the importance of credible journalism in today’s fast-changing media landscape.
