Shadnagar MLA and Chairman of the Public Sector Undertakings Committee Veerlapalli Shankar said the government’s primary objective was to ensure that welfare schemes reached poor and middle-class families. He called upon officials and public representatives to work in coordination to ensure that every eligible family received government benefits without political discrimination.

A smart ration card distribution programme was held at the Shadnagar Municipal Office, where MLA Veerlapalli Shankar distributed smart ration cards to eligible beneficiaries. He interacted with the beneficiaries and explained the welfare schemes being provided through the ration cards.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar said the State government was giving priority to the welfare of the poor and was taking steps to provide ration cards, Indiramma houses and other welfare benefits to all eligible families. He stressed that no deserving poor family should be left out due to political differences.

The MLA directed municipal councillors to remain accessible to people in their respective wards, create awareness about welfare schemes and take up public grievances with the concerned officials for early resolution.

Municipal Commissioner Sunitha Reddy, MRO Nagaiah, Municipal Chairman Basaveshwar, Vice-Chairman Ande Mohan, Market Committee Vice-Chairman Babar Khan, 28 ward councillors, co-option members, beneficiaries and a large number of people attended the programme.
