Khammam : The Excise department officials are taking various initiatives to make Khammam a drug free district and taking rampant and strict actions on budtenders.

Excise Deputy Commissioner G Janardhan Reddy and Excise Superintendent G Nagender Reddy held a meeting with the officials and decided to curb the procurement of ganja in the Khammam district.

On Sunday, officials under the aegis of Inspector K Raju arrested seven ganja sellers and seized 5 kg dry ganja, an auto and bike from them.

Speaking to media G Janardhan Reddy and Nagender Reddy said, ''we are putting all efforts to make Khammam a drug free district'' and added that around three to five ganja cases are being registered every month in the town''
