Is it necessary for such hyphe to one bye election ?
Just one year plus for elections to the state legislature of Telangana state but a bye election to the Munugodu assembly constituency in Nalgonda dist of Telangana! As the MLA of Congress party of Munugodu constituency , K Rajagopal Reddy ,resigned from party and joined BJP resulted in the bye election as per the principles and rules of BJP that whoever public representative joins its party has to resign the post and take fresh mandate as BJP candidate. Indeed its a very nice principle with ethics and moral values and every political party has to implement it for the sanctity of democracy and all have to appreciate BJP for initiating morality and values in politics.
Since the day of resignation Munugodu Congress MLA K Rajagopal Reddy ,there started intense campaign for bye election among all political parties. As the dates for election are announced ,the intensity of heat going up day by day with state and national leaders of Congress and BJP visiting the constituency regularly working for their candidates and ruling party with its power and cadre is not behind others and moving fast for the candidate of their party. As per the media ,hundreds of crores are to be spent in the bye election by three major parties Congress, BJP and ruling TRS party. As a disadvantage to opposition parties ,ruling TRS party announced a number of schemes as it is the culture of it to announce welfare schemes and other sops to the people just before elections as seen in the past. In addition to these ,as per news, ministers are given incharges for each mandal and many ruling party MLAs instructed to stay at Munugodu and campaign for its candidate highlighting welfare schemes of govt. Thus entire political administration at Munugodu till the elections and ministers duties in the state at standstill. Opposition parties are banking on misdeeds of state govt, its failures to fulfil election promises, anger among people on many issues troubling people and harassing opponents with its power resulting in frustration thus great hopes on negative and impression on state govt.
Is it necessary for such hyphe to one bye election as general elections not far away? Why crores of money spent just for one bye election which never affects ruling party in its majority? Though opposition parties want to corner ruling party with mass anti incumbency, ruling party is bent upon using its all resources and official man power to win at any cost as the result of it affects for its new national political party Bharath Rashtra Samithi( BRS) as Telangana Rashtra Samithi is converted into BRS as its chief and Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao decided to fight against Modi and BJP as he felt both failed in leading the country. Thus Munugodu bye election got prime interest to ruling party and for opposition to take upper hand in Telangana blaming TRS as family rule and only family members of Chief Minister got Bangaram( gold) in Bangaru Telangana( Golden Telangana) after getting seperate state from division of combined Andhra Pradesh.
Though the principle of BJP to join into it peoples representatives of other parties after getting fresh mandate ,it should have amended the rule not to press for fresh mandate if the general elections are within almost one year and should allow to take BJP membership with an oath. So that time of EC, officials, and huge expenditure on the bye election is saved. But who bothers?
Tail piece: Some one overheard the talk between a bank recovery staff demanding loanee for payment of long dues and loanee answered to wait till the bye elections to Munugodu and pay the dues. Such is the confidence of voters to become rich in this bye election! Democracy bleeds but none to control and prevent it! Are we not sad?
