Media Key to Promoting Medaram Jatara

Medaram Poojarula Sangam President Siddaboina Jagga Rao underlined the vital role of the media in taking the significance of the Medaram Jatara to the people and promoting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage associated with it.
He was speaking after unveiling the Deccan Vision English Daily calendar at Medaram. Siddaboina Jagga Rao appreciated Deccan Vision for widely highlighting Medaram Jatara-related news and bringing national and international attention to the world’s largest tribal festival. He noted that due to such extensive media coverage, the State government has also been giving top priority to the Medaram Jatara in terms of arrangements and facilities.
Emphasising the responsibility of the media, he said newspapers act as a bridge between devotees, the administration and the government by disseminating accurate and impartial information. He added that responsible reporting helps preserve traditions while ensuring better awareness among the public.
On the occasion, Siddaboina Jagga Rao appealed to devotees from across the country to visit Medaram and seek the blessings of the Sammakka and Saralamma deities. He said the festival symbolises faith, unity and devotion, and media support plays a key role in spreading its spiritual message.
The calendar unveiling programme was attended by Deccan Vision News In-charge N. S. Rao, Manakalam Editor Sunkaraneni Narsaiah and others, who spoke on the importance of ethical journalism and cultural reporting.
