World TB Day was observed on 20th March 2022. Dr Anuradha, Regional Director, Medical and Health Government of India, Smt Rajitha, Corporater, Sri Vidhyadhar Bhat,. Chairman Human Rights Commission,Ms Pavitra, TB Champion and Dr A Rajesham attended the event.

Dr Anuradha said the TB elimination program has made a rapid progress in India . She appreciated Telangana state for standing third at the national level based on various NTEP indicators.

Smt Rajitha said all should be very careful with regard to their health in general. A healthy society is required for the nation to progress, she said.

Dr Rajesham read a report on the progress of TB elimination in the state. He informed that Telangana made a  rapid progress in strengthening diagnostics services in state. 

Smt Pavitra shared her TB journey and how she overcame her challenges. She said she will support the program in creating awareness about TB and counsel the TB patients on treatment.

Best performing districts Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nizamabad Gadwal, Hyderabad and Malkajgiri Medchal  were felicitated.
