Boy Drowns in Open Drain, MLA Alleged GHMC Negligence

A tragic incident has once again highlighted the perils of urban neglect, as a young boy lost his life after falling into an open drain in Indira Gandhi Puram, Fatehnagar division. The boy's body was later recovered from Hussain Sagar.
Local MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao along with Corporators Satish Goud and Avula Ravinder Reddy, visited the scene and extended financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to the bereaved family.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, MLA Krishna Rao strongly condemned the negligence of GHMC officials. He alleged that the boy's death was directly attributable to the civic body's failure to address the issue of open drains. The GHMC Commissioner did not even bother to respond to my repeated calls, the MLA lamented. "This is a clear case of negligence, and justice must be served."
MLA Krishna Rao demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and called for strict action against the responsible officials. He also urged the authorities to provide adequate compensation to the victim's family.
This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for better infrastructure and maintenance in urban areas. It is imperative that concerned authorities take immediate steps to prevent such accidents from recurring.
