Balanagar police swiftly intervened and prevented a tragic incident on Tuesday morning when a 45-year-old woman attempted suicide by stepping onto the railway tracks at Ferozguda MMTS station.

According to CI Narsimha Raju, the woman, identified as Mangamma, a resident of Raju Colony, was reportedly distraught due to family disputes. Driven by despair, she made the desperate decision to end her life.

However, timely action by police constables K. Ravinder and Sudhakar Reddy thwarted her attempt. Upon receiving information, the constables promptly reached the scene and engaged Mangamma in a compassionate counselling session.

Through their efforts, the police constables successfully dissuaded Mangamma from harming herself. She was then safely handed over to her daughter, bringing a positive conclusion to the incident and reuniting with the family. This incident highlights the crucial role of Balanagar police's swift action and effective counselling in preventing suicides.
