Education, Research Should Benefit Society: Chancellor


Deccan News Service | Moinabad: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chaitanya Deemed to be University, Himayat Nagar, Moinabad Mandal, conferred a PhD degree to Ms. K. Jayasri for her outstanding research in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
Her doctoral research, titled “HDPF: A Hybrid Feature Selection Method for Heart Disease Prediction Framework Using Machine Learning,” was carried out under the supervision of Prof. G. Shankar Lingam and Prof. N. Satheesh Kumar. The study presents an innovative machine learning framework aimed at improving prediction accuracy in heart disease diagnosis through hybrid feature selection techniques.
The degree was formally awarded by Chancellor Dr. Ch. V. Purushottam Reddy, who lauded the importance of innovation-driven research in contributing to national development. “Education and research should ultimately benefit society. It is a matter of pride to see research addressing real-world problems such as heart disease prediction using technology,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Shankar Lingam, Registrar Prof. M. Ravinder, Dean of Research and Development Prof. Christopher, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology Prof. M. Jagadeeshwar, Controller of Examinations Prof. B. Rajender Reddy, Head of the CSE Department Dr. E. Aravind Reddy, and Assistant Registrar & PRO Sri Gade Rambabu Reddy.
The event concluded with appreciation for Ms. Jayasri’s contribution to applied research in healthcare technology, reaffirming the university’s commitment to fostering socially impactful and innovative research.
