Hyderabad : BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao launched a strong attack on the Congress government and the Hyderabad Development Authority (Hydra), accusing it of targeting the poor while sparing the influential and wealthy. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan after presenting a detailed PowerPoint report on Hydra’s demolition drives, KTR said the so-called slogan of “justice for the poor” had turned into “bulldozers for the poor.”

He said that during the ten-year rule of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Hyderabad witnessed progress and infrastructure expansion — from T-Hub and V-Hub to the Police Command Control Center and 42 new flyovers and underpasses. “Under KCR’s rule, we built the state. Under Revanth Reddy’s rule, they are breaking it,” KTR remarked.

Pointing to alleged irregularities and political bias in recent demolitions, KTR questioned why Hydra was silent on illegal constructions by ministers and senior leaders. “If Minister Ponguleti filled a pond and built a house, why is Hydra not demolishing it? Does Hydra have the courage to touch Minister Vivek’s residence built within the FTL limits? What about the house of the CM’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, in Durgam Cheruvu’s restricted zone?” he asked.

He alleged that officials, under political pressure, were quick to bulldoze small houses in Gajularamaram and other low-income areas but avoided confronting powerful politicians. “Hydra’s bulldozers and police are only for the poor. They dare not go near the farmhouses and bungalows of the rich,” he said.

KTR also announced that BRS would stand with all those wronged by the Congress government’s “selective justice.” He said that while the Congress came to power with promises of equality, it was now destroying the livelihoods of the underprivileged under the pretext of urban regulation.

“Hydra’s justice is one-sided — mercy for the mighty, misery for the poor. We will ensure that those victimized by this injustice get their due,” KTR declared, calling the ongoing demolitions a symbol of the Congress’s arrogance and administrative collapse.
