Kadari Anantha Reddy Eyes Karimnagar Teachers Constituency in 2025 MLC Elections

Karimnagar: Kadari Anantha Reddy, Chairman of Manair Educational Institutions, has announced his decision to contest the upcoming Legislative Council elections from the Karimnagar Teachers Constituency, scheduled for March 2025. Addressing the media on Sunday, Anantha Reddy expressed his confidence in securing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket, with support already demonstrated by the Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) and Telangana's junior and degree college associations. They have approached Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay Kumar and G Kishan Reddy to advocate for his candidacy.

Reddy expressed strong confidence in his chances of winning, whether with or without a party ticket, emphasizing the growing support from the teaching community. He highlighted that the Election Commission of India has granted private teachers the right to vote in the Teachers Constituency elections, significantly enhancing his potential voter base. To ensure maximum participation, he plans to launch an enrolment drive from September 30, distributing and filling out Form 19 for the registration of private teachers as voters.

Addressing his vision for educational development, Reddy underscored his personal experience, having studied in a government school, and pointed out the challenges faced by these institutions, such as inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of qualified teachers. He advocated for upgrading government schools with better facilities, ensuring a transformative learning experience for students through qualified educators.

Reddy also proposed concessions for budget-private schools, such as relief in power supply and property tax, to support the sector's growth. He stressed the need to resolve the Government Order (GO) 317 issue and urged the immediate release of pending Dearness Allowances (DAs) for government teachers and employees. If elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), he pledged to work toward promoting quality and value-based education, using the Council platform to raise relevant issues.

The announcement of his candidacy received strong backing from TRSMA State President S Narsi Reddy and General Secretary K Anil Kumar, who expressed their complete support for Anantha Reddy’s bid. Prominent figures, including district leaders Sudhakar Reddy, A Ramachandra Reddy, and B Madhusudhan Reddy, were also present, signaling widespread support for his campaign from educational leaders in the region. Anantha Reddy, as one of the founders of TRSMA, carries significant influence and experience, which adds strength to his candidacy for the Karimnagar Teachers Constituency.
