The by poll in Munugodu assembly constituency  in Telangana state  has produced many dramas, gimmicks, permutations and combinations of political leaders. The by poll made people enjoy,earn,  laugh and worry!
 Enjoyment as main contesting candidates providing non veg food, alcohol and daily wages for attending public meetings ranging from ₹300 to 500 depending upon demand and supply. It is interesting to know that cheap liqour is no more accepted by voters as they are demanding costly whisky and beer. The sales of liqour are reaching its peak in the constituency and bought from outside too.  Many business people and petty vendors got field day as good business going on with election materials, sales of routine things as there is increase in leaders and cadres staying in  villages with costly accomadation and spending a lot. Almost all voters expecting money for going to polling booth to vote. Voters are becoming highly intellectual as they are accepting money from  and if more voters in a family a package deal struck. Voters staying outside constituency are offered transport and other charges! Media too got good days as package for daily coverages got good revenue. Thus this by poll provided works to many with good earnings and enjoyment.
As business section enjoying ,many elders and educated are just laughing at the attitude of leaders changing political parties overnight with exit and entries into major parties. Those criticising other political party with strong words are joining the same party next morning meeting state leaders. Those giving sermons on self respect are sacrificing it and join other party from where they left for so called self respect. Thus self respect is weeping as it is insulted by some deliberately. Thus these leaders and cadre have become laughing stock in the constituency.
The educated young generation who are hope of the future of the country, the freedom fighters of the country and those who took part in the agitation of seperate Telangana state from 1969 till the formation of seperate state of Telangana ,are a worried lot as democratic values, ethics , morals in politics are eroded to a large extent as there is no sincerity, dedication, service orientation among politicians as many are for power,status increasing wealth by hook or crook as long as in power. Many politicians with poor economic background few  years ago ,are now highly rich commanding the society and politics with money and man power. Even with any business, agriculture and employment  ,it is impossible to become highly rich within eight years but our politicians are fast forward in becoming wealthy with the lottery of the proffession of politics with power in ruling party. Service orientation for people is linked with vote bank and kickbacks from the government budget spent on development and welfare activities. These and other issues are a great worry of senior citizens who toiled for public service decades ago as peoples representatives duly elected with simple living  high thinking and minimal bank balance ,some even without own house! They feel public servants now a days are no more servants of public but self and family servants looking after their families, relatives, friends and trying to come back to power again. Even government servants are no more servants of people but by politicians, of politicians and for politicians as without the involvement of local peoples representatives of ruling party nothing moves and it moves only for their own cadre through officials. Doing business, farming etc are not barred for peoples representatives and politicians as it is their fundamental right but political power should not influence for their business etc for more earnings and unlawful activities through official favouritism. These elders worry what would be the message conveyed to the young generation by these selfish politicians earning through politics and power and what would be the fate of the country. Ofcourse there are some peoples representatives, leaders who are sincere, dedicated to party principles and for common man looking after their problems and welfare serving them without looking for personal benefits and spending their own money for public but they can be counted on fingers and are not much powerful nor influenced as they never compromise with their principles of sincerity, moral and ethical values as public servants and our KUDOS to all such leaders who bring shine to our democratic principles and public service. This is the picture of the election of Ek Saal Ka badshaw of Munugodu!
