Brothers' Success Story: From Odd Jobs to Esteemed Posts

In a tale that echoes the rise of the lotus from muddy waters, two brothers from Adilabad have transformed their lives from humble beginnings to prestigious positions, becoming a beacon of inspiration for the youth of Telangana.
Balakrishna and Sivakrishna, sons of Lakshmi Narayana and Bharathi from Filter Bed Colony in Adilabad town, grew up amidst adversity. With their father battling mental illness, the family’s financial survival rested solely on their mother Bharathi, who stitched clothes on a sewing machine to support her sons’ education.
Educated at Gopalakrishna Vidya Mandir, the brothers were aware from a young age that education was their only escape from poverty. Balakrishna, the elder, worked in a local biryani hotel while studying. Despite securing a seat for MCA at Osmania University’s College of Science, he discontinued due to financial constraints and turned to bank exam preparation. His perseverance paid off after early setbacks—he cracked jobs in Gramin Bank and Andhra Bank, eventually joining the State Bank of India. Today, he serves as Manager (Human Resources) at SBI’s Regional Office in Shivaji Chowk, Adilabad.
Sivakrishna, the younger sibling, started as a computer operator in a local paper office. But his academic brilliance shone through—he ranked 47th in Osmania PG entrance (MSc Organic Chemistry), 43rd in the CSIR-NET, and went on to earn a PhD in Chemistry from IICT, Hyderabad. In 2019, he secured employment with IOCL and also stood second in the Telangana State Gurukul Degree College Lecturer Eligibility Test. He is currently the regular Principal of Tribal Gurukul Degree College, Adilabad.
The brothers credit their mentor, Suryam , for sowing the seed of academic ambition. “He made us believe that only education can change lives. His guidance taught us how to grow,” said the duo, urging youth to never give up, no matter how challenging their circumstances.
Today, Balakrishna and Sivakrishna stand tall—not just as professionals, but as symbols of grit, determination, and the transformative power of education.
