Manzar Bhopali in Hyderabad:   Exclusive with the Poet of Love

Hyderabad had a literary treat today as renowned Urdu poet Manzar Bhopali visited the city to attend a private mushaira. Our newspaper editor had the exclusive opportunity to interact with the celebrated poet, in the presence of Mr. Abid Mohiuddin, Managing Director of Maqdoom Brothers, adding a distinguished touch to the conversation.

Bhopali, whose real name is Syed Ali Raza, has been a towering figure in Urdu literature for decades. Beginning his poetic journey at 14 and reciting his first ghazal at 17, he has since enthralled audiences across India and internationally, participating in mushairas in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. His literary contributions include acclaimed works such as Ye Sadi Hamari Hai, Tishnagi, and Betiyon Ke Liye, blending emotional depth with lyrical finesse.

During the discussion, Bhopali shared his philosophy of spreading the “mohabbat ka paigaam” (message of love) through poetry. “Poetry is not just words; it is a bridge between hearts,” he said. Known for his humility and approachable nature, he emphasized that his ghazals aim to connect people, evoke emotions, and inspire compassion.

The poet also spoke warmly about Hyderabad, praising the city’s rich literary and cultural heritage. “Being here for a mushaira is always special. The audience truly feels the soul of poetry,” he remarked, his signature charm evident throughout the interaction.

Mr. Abid Mohiuddin expressed his admiration for Bhopali’s work, noting how the poet’s presence enriches every cultural gathering. The editor of our newspaper described the interaction as a memorable insight into the heart and mind of a poet whose verses transcend borders and generations.

Today’s visit reaffirmed Manzar Bhopali’s enduring legacy—not only as a literary figure but as a messenger of love and empathy. Hyderabadans attending the private mushaira will witness a master poet whose words continue to touch hearts and inspire minds.
