Efforts Underway to Improve Village Infrastructure: Sridhar Babu

State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas of Telangana. Speaking at a public meeting in Kataram mandal on Sunday, after launching and laying foundation stones for several development works, the minister said long-pending demands for basic infrastructure in villages are now being addressed.

Highlighting the government's initiatives, Sridhar Babu announced infrastructure development in schools to ensure quality education for children. “We are focusing on all elements required to create a conducive learning environment,” he said.

Development Works Launched

The minister laid foundation stones for several major works including:

  • A sports stadium complex with volleyball, basketball, badminton courts, open gym, and cricket nets (Rs.1 crore)
  • A children’s park in Kataram (Rs.14 lakhs)
  • Multiple BT roads worth over Rs.10 crores, connecting various villages in Kataram mandal
  • Internal CC roads and drains in Kataram villages (Rs.1.9 crores)

He also presented a cheque of Rs.3.12 crores to the District Collector for women’s associations and handed over checks worth Rs.1.9 crores from the CM’s Relief Fund to 243 beneficiaries across five mandals.

Welfare and Services

Sridhar Babu inaugurated Vaikuntha Rathas for four mandals and an ambulance donated by Kotak Mahindra Bank under CSR funds for Palimela mandal. On the occasion of former Speaker Sripada Rao’s death anniversary, he distributed free eyeglasses and organized eye checkups in partnership with Pushpagiri Hospital.

He also distributed 100 desk benches to eight schools in Kataram and inaugurated a Rs.1 crore 33/11KV substation in Dhanwada.

Fair Selection in Welfare Schemes

Referring to the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, the minister urged officials to ensure fair selection of beneficiaries for subsidies ranging from Rs.50,000 to Rs.4 lakhs. He encouraged beneficiaries to provide employment opportunities to others as part of the program.

Saraswati Pushkaralu

The minister said Rs.35 crores have been allocated for Saraswati Pushkara celebrations from May 15–26, including arrangements like a tent city for devotees.

Sridhar Babu concluded by saying he is working toward realizing the dreams of his father, Sripada Rao, and reaffirmed his dedication to people-centric development.
