Khel Mahotsav 2025 Celebrated with Grandeur at Guru Nanak Educational Institutions and Guru Nanak University

The campus of Guru Nanak Educational Institutions and Guru Nanak University came alive with energy and enthusiasm as it hosted the grand celebration of Khel Mahotsav 2025 on Saturday. The annual sports festival witnessed spirited participation from students, faculty, and staff, who came together to celebrate the essence of sportsmanship and unity.
The event was inaugurated by Sardar Gagan Deep Singh Kohli, Vice Chairman of Guru Nanak Educational Institutions and Chancellor of Guru Nanak University. In his address, he underscored the vital role of sports in shaping character, fostering physical fitness, and building mental resilience. He encouraged participants to embrace discipline, courage, and leadership through sports and remarked that the festival would help deepen the Guru-Shishya bond on campus.
Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director of the college and Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak University, also graced the occasion. Speaking to the gathering, he highlighted how sports play a crucial role not just in health and fitness, but also in laying the foundation for future success. He reminded participants that winning offers pride, while losing brings valuable lessons, both contributing to self-confidence and discipline in life.
The celebration was further enriched by the presence of key dignitaries including Dr. S. Sreenath Reddy, Director of Educational Institutions; Dr. P. Parthasarathi, Joint Director; Dr. K. Venkata Rao, Principal; Dr. Sanjeev Srivastava, University Director; Dr. Vishal Walia, Registrar; Dr. Ranganayakulu; Dr. Rishi Syal; and other department heads. Sharing their thoughts, they emphasized that Khel Mahotsav is more than just a sports event — it is a platform that encourages playing, learning, and growing together. The festival reflects the values of teamwork, equality, and perseverance, inspiring participants to strive for excellence.
A variety of sports competitions were held throughout the day, with winners being awarded medals, trophies, and certificates. The Chief Organizer of the event, Dr. Harish Kundra, delivered the closing address, extending his gratitude to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for their presence and support. He also congratulated all participants and staff for their enthusiastic involvement, which contributed to the success of the event.
