All arrangements have been completed for the grand celebration of the three-day Sri Bangaru Maisamma Thalli Jatara, scheduled to be held from May 17 to 19, according to Temple Executive Officer Gujjula Kondareddy and Temple Renewal Committee Chairman Dhirawat Dasru Nayak.
In a joint statement issued on Friday, the officials stated that meticulous preparations have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities, which honor Sri Bangaru Maisamma Thalli, the highly revered deity of the Banjara community. They emphasized that the Jatara would be conducted in full adherence to age-old temple customs and local traditions.
Kondareddy and Nayak noted that the cooperation of village elders, priests, and prominent community members played a vital role in supporting the Renewal Committee's efforts. “Their guidance and active participation have been instrumental in preserving the sanctity and cultural heritage of the festival,” they said.
Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the religious celebrations, which include special pujas, traditional rituals, and community feasts. Adequate measures have been taken to provide facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, and accommodation for the influx of pilgrims.
The officials appealed to devotees to take part in large numbers and help ensure the spiritual and cultural success of the Jatara. Security arrangements have also been made in coordination with the local police department to maintain law and order throughout the festival days.
With the entire village gearing up for the event, the atmosphere in Damaracherla is vibrant with devotion and festive spirit, as locals prepare to welcome worshippers from neighboring villages and beyond.
