Ms Aswini Honored with Savitribai Phule Award


VIJAYAWADA: Teacher Ms Aswini from Kondurpalem, Vakadu Mandal, Nellore district, has been awarded the prestigious Savitribai Phule Award for her exemplary commitment to education. This recognition comes during the birth anniversary celebrations of Savitribai Phule, who was instrumental in establishing India's first school for girls in 1848 and became the country's first female teacher, significantly influencing the educational landscape for women.
The Bharata Yuvajana Service Society instituted this award to honor teachers who echo Phule's dedication to quality education. Ms Aswini, a teacher at a government school, was selected for her innovative activity-based teaching methods that ensure age and grade-appropriate learning competencies at the primary level. Additionally, she has played a key role in designing textbooks for primary schools under the guidance of SCERT-Andhra Pradesh.
The award ceremony, graced by the presence of film actress Mrs. Renu Desai, was part of the state-level Savitribai Phule birth celebrations in Vijayawada, highlighting the ongoing efforts to promote education inspired by Phule's legacy.
