Poultry India Expo 2024 Concludes with 40,000 Visitors, Showcasing Innovation in the Poultry Industry
The 16th edition of the Poultry India Expo 2024, organized by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), concluded successfully at the HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad, from November 27 to 29. The event attracted an impressive 40,000 visitors, cementing its position as South Asia’s premier international poultry exhibition.

The closing ceremony was graced by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy, who commended IPEMA for its pioneering role in leveraging technology to deliver healthy eggs and meat. Governor Reddy emphasized the importance of such platforms for knowledge-sharing and suggested hosting a similar event in Tripura, pledging full government support to facilitate the endeavor. He also lauded Telangana’s advancements in the poultry sector, asserting its capability to rival developed nations in poultry processing and technology.

Global Reach and Participation
This year’s expo showcased the latest advancements in poultry farming, equipment, feed technologies, and health management, attracting over 400 exhibitors from more than 50 countries. Professionals from diverse sectors, including poultry farmers, government officials, integrators, and global poultry experts, gathered to explore innovations, address challenges, and foster collaboration.

Knowledge Day 2024
The event began with Knowledge Day on November 26, a renowned technical seminar that featured global experts sharing insights into emerging trends. Key discussions revolved around sustainable practices, feed cost management, and technological advancements in the poultry industry.

Keynote Address by IPEMA President Uday Singh Bayas
Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA, underscored the critical role of India’s poultry sector in food security, rural employment, and nutrition. He called for urgent policy support to address rising input costs, such as maize and soya, which are essential for feed. Bayas advocated GST exemptions on key inputs and machinery and urged for expanded Rabi maize cultivation to reduce dependency on imports.

Bayas also highlighted the need for streamlined vaccine import protocols to combat animal diseases and proposed a balanced approach to achieve sustainable practices while positioning India as a leader in poultry exports.

Innovation and Growth
The expo addressed pressing challenges like supply chain disruptions, environmental concerns, and disease management. It served as a platform for industry professionals to explore advancements in sustainable practices and emerging technologies, ensuring the sector’s continued growth.
