Rs 571 Crore Sanctioned for Chinna Kaleshwaram Project

State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu revealed that Rs 571 crore was sanctioned for the Chinna Kaleshwaram project during the YS Rajasekhar Reddy Congress government. Addressing the media after a recent review meeting with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, he explained that the project is crucial for providing irrigation and drinking water to 45,000 acres of beedu lands across five mandals under the Kataram division.
Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the government's commitment to expediting the completion of this vital project. He stated that the funds allocated earlier are being reviewed for land acquisition and development works, ensuring the timely implementation of the project. The Chinna Kaleshwaram scheme, envisioned to harness the waters of the Godavari River, aims to fill tanks and provide water for two crops in Kataram, Mahadevpur, Mahamuttaram, and Malhar mandals.
During the meeting, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy assured full cooperation in accelerating the project's development. Sridhar Babu further expressed confidence that the project would be completed by next year, fulfilling the aspirations of farmers in the region. He highlighted that the scheme will significantly enhance agricultural productivity and support sustainable development in the area.
The review focused on identifying actionable steps to resolve bottlenecks in land acquisition and infrastructure development. Both ministers reiterated their commitment to the welfare of farmers and the successful realization of the Chinna Kaleshwaram project.
