Suman Honored with “Ranga Sumanasa” Award in Muscat

Renowned actor Dr. Suman Talwar, with a career spanning over 47 years and more than 800 films across 10 languages, was honored with the prestigious “Ranga Sumanasa” award in a grand ceremony held in Muscat. The award, presented by Javaner Muscat, recognized his exceptional contributions to cinema and his portrayal of divine characters that have left an indelible mark on audiences.

A Career Rooted in Excellence

Hailing from the coastal region of Karnataka, Suman is celebrated for his roles as Lord Srinivasa, Lord Rama, and Lord Shiva, earning him a devoted following both in India and abroad. Despite having no formal training in the arts, his dedication and talent have made him one of the most respected actors in the film industry. Kadri Navaneet Shetty, speaking at the event, lauded Suman’s simplicity, noble character, and his unique ability to connect with audiences through his performances.

Suman, who is also recognized as the only actor from the coastal region to have acted in 11 languages, expressed his gratitude for the honor. In his address, he emphasized the importance of harmony and cultural traditions, suggesting that Nag Panchami should be declared a public holiday in coastal Karnataka to allow families to participate in religious festivities. He also highlighted the role of arts in fostering unity and cultural preservation.

Recognizing Excellence Across Disciplines

The event also celebrated other luminaries for their contributions to art and culture:

  • Dr. Devadas Kapikad received the “Kala Sindhu” award for his work in cultural arts.
  • Naveen D. Padil was honored with the “Teliked Tedil” award for his theatrical contributions.
  • Bhojaraj Vamanjoor was presented the “Chaturanga Savya Sachi” award for his multifaceted talent.
  • Sai Krishna Kudla received the “Ranga Trivikram” award for his achievements in the performing arts.

A Gathering of Prominent Personalities :

The ceremony saw the presence of distinguished guests, including chief guest Arun Poojari, an official at Mangalore Airport. Several prominent figures from Muscat attended the event, such as Ramanan Banger, Shiv Prakash Kumpal, Shashidhar Shetty Mallar, and others. Their participation underscored the importance of the occasion and the shared commitment to celebrating cultural excellence.

A Cultural Extravaganza

Adding to the evening’s charm, the play “Pudar Deetiji” was performed by the talented Cha Park team, organized by Inspiration Design. The captivating performance showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, leaving the audience spellbound.

The event concluded with heartfelt tributes to Suman and the other awardees, celebrating their invaluable contributions to the arts and their role in inspiring future generations.
