A 17-year-old girl, who was reportedly depressed following her illness, committed suicide at her house in Dandamudi Enclave at Kompally here on Sunday.

According to CI Prashant, the girl identified as Swapna(17), a intermediate second year student of Chaitanya College in  Maredpally. She used to stay with her mother and father in flat 216, Kasani Residency under Pet-Basheerabad police station limits. 

As per her parents Sunday night she went into her study room, she was suffering from depression due to her illness. On Monday morning when her parents looked into her study room, found her hanging to ceiling fan. Upon receipt of petition from her mother Aruna, Pet-Basheerabad police registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating it. The body was shifted to Gandhi hospital for autopsy and further investigations.
