In a major crackdown against reckless driving, the Balanagar Traffic Police conducted a special drive at Shobana Centre. The focus of the drive was to curb helmet-less and wrong-side driving, two major contributors to road accidents. During the operation, traffic police personnel apprehended 62 motorists, including two-wheeler riders, who were found violating traffic rules. These individuals were not only endangering their own lives but also putting the lives of others at risk.

Speaking to the media, Balanagar Traffic CI Suresh highlighted the alarming trend of road accidents caused by helmet-less riding and wrong-side driving. He emphasized that in many cases, victims of road accidents were not wearing helmets, leading to severe head injuries and fatalities. "Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to road accidents, and head injuries remain the leading cause of death among victims," said CI Suresh.

"By wearing helmets and following traffic rules, we can significantly reduce the number of road accidents and save lives." The police took stringent action against the violators, imposing penalties and counselling them on the importance of road safety. The drive serves as a strong message to all road users to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic regulations.
