Diabetes Walk Poster Unveiled, MLA Urges Public to Join Awareness Drive
Deccan News Service | Hyderabad : The official poster for the Diabetic Awareness Walk 2025 was unveiled at the Rajendra Nagar MLA office, marking the beginning of a public health initiative aimed at educating citizens about diabetes and its impact on eye health. Rajendra Nagar MLA Prakash Goud formally launched the poster in the presence of healthcare professionals and organizers from Deccan Vision Eye Care, Attapur.
The walk will be held on 29 November 2025 at 10:00 AM, starting from Deccan Vision Eye Care, Nalanda Nagar Road, Attapur, and concluding at Janapriya Apartments Chowrasta. The event aims to bring together residents, health workers, and community leaders to spread awareness about diabetes prevention, early detection, and its complications—especially Diabetic Retinopathy, a leading cause of vision loss.
During the launch, MLA Prakash Goud appreciated the initiative and appealed to the public to participate in large numbers. He stressed the importance of regular eye check-ups, timely screening, and lifestyle modifications to prevent diabetes-related eye complications. “Awareness and early diagnosis can save lives and eyesight. Community participation is key to fighting this silent disease,” he noted.

The poster was presented by Professor and Master of Optometry Mohammed Liyaqath Ali, who highlighted the need for preventive eye care among diabetic patients. He stated that public campaigns like this walk play a vital role in educating citizens about the risks associated with uncontrolled diabetes.
MLA Prakash Goud also commended Syed Sufiyan, Senior Consultant Optometrist, and the dedicated team at Deccan Vision Eye Care for their continued efforts in organizing free health awareness programs across Hyderabad. He lauded their commitment to community welfare and their initiative to make preventive eye healthcare accessible to all sections of society.
Organizers encouraged citizens to join the walk and contribute to building a healthier, more informed community. Participants will receive guidance on diabetes management, eye screening awareness, and preventive health practices throughout the event.
