Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) led a massive roadshow in Rahmatnagar division on Saturday, energizing voters ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election and sharply criticizing the Congress government for its alleged failures. Addressing a gathering of women, youth, and local residents, KTR urged voters to reject the Congress narrative and support BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath.

During the roadshow, KTR accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of threatening to cancel welfare schemes if voters did not back the Congress, calling it an unprecedented political tactic. “In ten years of elections, we have never seen a government threaten schemes within two years,” he said. KTR also condemned the politicization of personal grief, referencing the late Maganti Gopinath and the emotional response of his widow Sunitha, highlighting the alleged insensitivity of Congress leaders.

The roadshow stretched from Pratibha Nagar in Rahmatnagar to Sriramnagar, drawing large crowds and enthusiastic participation from local residents. Supporters cheered slogans in favor of Maganti Sunitha, waved placards questioning Congress promises such as Rs 2,500 monthly aid, free gas schemes, and scooties, and expressed strong approval for the developmental projects completed during KCR’s tenure. KTR emphasized the work done in Jubilee Hills under BRS, including water reservoir improvements and road expansions, contrasting it with what he described as the current government’s failures.

The response to the roadshow underscored the popularity of BRS and its candidate, with participation from over 20 slum areas and minority communities from Karmikanagar, Sriramnagar, and SPR Hills. Young supporters took selfies with KTR and joined in singing the campaign anthem, reflecting high energy and voter engagement.

The event is seen as a significant morale booster for BRS ahead of polling, reinforcing the party’s narrative of development-focused governance and public welfare, while keeping Congress’ shortcomings at the center of the campaign discourse.
