Deccan News Service | Rajanna Sircilla : Rajanna Sircilla, 24 November 2025: A surprising incident has come to light in which the proceeds from cotton sales meant for a farmer were mistakenly deposited into the bank account of the Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam Annadanam Trust.

Edula Satthemma, a cotton farmer from Vemulawada town, sold her cotton at the CCI purchase center in Nampally Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Ginning Mill on 6 November. The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) credited Rs. 2,14,549 to the bank account linked to Satthemma’s Aadhaar. However, when she attempted to withdraw the funds, bank officials informed her that the money was not in her account.

Upon further inquiry, CCI officials revealed that the amount had been mistakenly credited to the Rajanna temple’s Annadanam Trust account. Authorities are now working to recover the misdirected funds and are investigating how Sathemma’s Aadhaar number became linked to the temple’s account.

The incident has raised concerns about the security and accuracy of bank transactions at the Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Temple, where transactions worth crores of rupees are regularly processed. Officials have assured that corrective measures are being taken to ensure the farmer receives her rightful payment and to prevent similar errors in the future.
